A thesis paper is a kind of research paper that students of higher degree programs are required to write at the end of their degree program. It is considered an important part of almost all the degree programs, without completing which, students are not awarded their degrees.

Parts of the thesis:

A thesis paper is usually divided into three paragraphs or sections i.e. introduction, main body and conclusion. If a thesis is lengthy and based on extensive research work, then these paragraphs are divided into sub-sections. These paragraphs are discussed below:


As the name suggests, this paragraph introduces the thesis topic. It presents a clear picture of the thesis paper to give an idea to the readers as to what the paper is all about and what they will find ahead. An introduction usually containsthedescription of the topic, its background, purpose for conducting research and writing thesis about it and also its significance. It is the first paragraph of the paper. It has the ability to build or ruin the impression of a paper. Thisiswhy; it needs to bewrittencarefully in a simple and clear manner.  It should be to the point and relevant to the topic. There should not be any unnecessary information.

Main Body:

The main body paragraphs include the main argument along with supporting evidences and examples. It usually contains a description of the research process that was adopted for finding out data about the topic, methodologies that were used for conducting research, research model, results formulated on the basis of findings and discussion about the results. The main body is the central part of the paper and plays a significant role in the success of a thesis. It needs to be written in a very effective and impressivemanner by presenting a strong argument with the help of logical evidences and examples. The information written in the main body needs to berelevant and true.


The conclusion summarizes the whole paper by highlighting the important points that are already discussed earlier in the paper. It also states whether there is a need for further research or not and presents recommendations or suggestions for it. It does not include any kind of new information and only restates the content discussed earlier.
